Sunday was a glorious day. My buddy Martin and I met at the usual time, 7:30 AM, to go out to "The Point". Alameda Point Antique Fair. We have been going out there for years and really make a day of it. First we hit Powderface at the Fruitvale BART for some breakfast then we are off. There were many great treasures to be had at Alameda this month but it always seems to take me to the halfway mark before I find anything worth buying. I have many areas of interest including: Heywood Wakefield furniture, Red Wing tableware, vintage slides, paper ephemera from the 40's through the 60's, 1950's Atomic furniture, objects, art and LIGHTING! I have a major lamp fetish! I also have built a nice Golden Gate Exposition collection. So here's what I found on Sunday:
